Nelson Yeo
Nelson Yeo is a Singaporean filmmaker. His first feature film, Dreaming & Dying, won the coveted Filmmakers of the Present – Golden Leopard (Pardo d’oro Cineasti del presente) award and Swatch First Feature Award at Locarno International Film Festival 2023. He participated in Berlinale Talents Tokyo in 2014, BiFan Fantastic Film School in 2015 and Locarno Filmmakers Academy in 2018. His short films have been selected for international film festivals such as Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg, Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival and Cairo International Film Festival. Contrary (2019), won Best Experimental Short at Golden Ger International Film Festival. Here is Not There (2020) was awarded Best ASEAN Short Film at Bangkok ASEAN Film Festival and Best Singapore Short Film at SGIFF. Plastic Sonata (2022) won Cathay Play Best Chinese Short Film at SeaShorts Film Festival.
Tan Si En
Tan Si En is a film & TV producer and founder of film and tv company – Momo Film Co. An alumnus of Berlinale Talents and Rotterdam Lab, Si En produced Dreaming & Dying by Nelson Yeo which made its World Premiere at the prestigious Locarno Film Festival 2023. And Wet Season by Anthony Chen which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival 2019, Platform Competition. Wet Season has been selected by the Singapore Film Commission as the nation’s Oscars 2021 representative and was lauded critically, receiving 12 awards internationally including the distinguished Golden Horse Awards. Her latest co production The Year Of The Everlasting Storm premiered in Cannes Film Festival 2021 and Arnold Is A Model Student by Sorayos Prapapan premiered in Locarno Film Festival 2022.
Sophia Sim
Sophia Sim is a film producer from Singapore. Her first foray into the filmmaking industry was on A LAND IMAGINED by Yeo Siew Hua (Golden Leopard Locarno, 2018). Her most recent narrative production is Nicole Midori Woodford’s debut feature, LAST SHADOW AT FIRST LIGHT (SEAFIC-TFL, 2017). She worked under producer Jeremy Chua, line producing for the Singapore segment, and assistant producing for the Japan segment. Another producer she’s worked with is Tan Si En, co producing for the short film, Nelson Yeo’s DREAMING (Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg, 2022) and Nelson Yeo’s DREAMING & DYING.
She has produced for Kent Chan’s FUTURE TROPICS in his HEAT WAVES (Gasworks UK, 2023) exhibition piece. Most recently, she produced Cécile B. Evans’ Singapore segment of REALITY OR NOT (Lafayette Anticipations, Singapore Art Museum, 2023) art film.
