QCinema Project Market

The QCINEMA PROJECT MARKET (QPM) is the official industry initiative of the QCinema International Film Festival that provides a valuable platform for filmmakers and producers to connect, secure funding, expand their networks, gain exposure, develop their skills, and contribute to the growth of the international film industry. It aims to enrich the festival experience, support the creation of innovative and globally relevant films, and contribute to the growth and development of the regional film industry.

QPM will feature a curated selection of 19 projects in advanced development, particularly Filipino and Southeast Asian feature film projects seeking international partners.

Filmmakers and producers can pitch their projects to international investors, production companies, distributors, sales agents, and other industry professionals.

It will host one-on-one meetings, project presentations, and networking events to facilitate connections and collaborations.

Awards

QPM – PH CO-PRODUCTION GRANT (PHP 3,000,000)

Three (3) Filipino projects will receive this award as selected by the QPM Jury.

QPM – SEA CO-PRODUCTION GRANT (USD 35,000)

Three (3) Southeast Asian projects will receive this award as selected by the QPM Jury.

MOCHA CHAI AWARD (POST PRODUCTION SUPPORT)

The Mocha Chai Award will grant one (1) project with comprehensive post-production services, including final grading up to 4k Dolby Vision, final mix up to Dolby Atmos, and DCP delivery, valued at up to USD 50,000.

CMB DISCOVERY AWARD (FILM EQUIPMENT SUPPORT)

The CMB Discovery Award will grant two (2) projects with PHP 1,000,000 each worth of film equipment rental support.

THE NARRA SIGHT AND SOUND POST GRANT

The Narra Sight and Sound Post Grant awards the choice QCinema international film project with an audio-post production sponsorship of PHP 500,000 and a video post-production sponsorship of PHP 1,000,000, for a total post-prod package of PHP 1,500,000.

SPACE LION AWARD (POST PRODUCTION SUPPORT)

The Space Lion Award will grant one (1) project with a sponsored 10-day coloring grading package worth USD 25,000.

POP UP FILM RESIDENCY AWARD

The Pop Up Film Residency QCinema Award will be awarded to one (1) project who will be invited to a tailor-made-3-week long residency to take place in Paris (France) in February 2024.

KONGCHAK STUDIO AWARD

The Kongchak Studio Award will grant one (1) project an in-kind prize worth USD 10,000 in sound post-production services to be done in their studios in Cambodia.

CREAZION STUDIOS AWARD

The CreaZion Studios Award is a development grant worth PHP 200,000 that will be awarded to one (1) project.

Liza Diño

Managing Director

Liza Diño is a notable figure in the Philippine entertainment industry, renowned for her contributions as an actress, public servant, film producer, consultant and workers advocate. In her former role as Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the Film Development Council of the Philippines, the country’s national film agency, she made it her mission to bring Philippine cinema to the world stage and be at the forefront of global collaboration. During her time, landmark programs and initiatives were launched and implemented that positioned the Philippines to be more globally competitive and ready to work with international stakeholders.

She founded FilmPhilippines, the country’s first global film incentive program, promoting the Philippines as a filming destination and a coproduction hub for foreign productions. To further Liza’s goal to strengthen collaboration within the Southeast Asian region and help Filipino filmmakers bring their films to the global stage within the Southeast Asian region, she founded the country’s first Southeast Asian Film and talent lab, Full Circle Lab Philippines in 2019 in partnership with french-based company Tatino Films and has supported over 75 southeast Asian film projects and mentored 160+ participants from the Philippines and Southeast Asia. This led to her recognition this 2023 as the first Filipina to become a french knight in the field of cinema having been conferred with the Chevalier in the French Order of Arts and Letters (“Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, the highest civilian award given by the French Republic for individuals who have distinguished themselves by their artistic or literary creations or by their contribution to the influence of the arts and letters in France and the world.

She is currently the Executive Director of the Quezon City Film Commission and the founder and Managing Director of the QCinema Project Market and envisions to continue the mission to activate collaboration in the region and make Quezon City a global creative industry hub.
