Festival Note
Set over the course of forty-five years, as Poland makes the rocky transition from communism to capitalism, Aniela Wesoły (Małgorzata Hajewska-Krzysztofik) takes a difficult journey to find her own personal freedom as a trans woman. Englert and Szumowska offer an impassioned yet tranquil plea for equality in their notoriously homophobic home nation, tracking the difficulties the trans community faced and still face as they attempt to be who they really are.
