In this twisted retelling of Cinderella, Elvira (Lea Myren) has just arrived in the home of her mother’s new husband, who has an incredibly beautiful daughter. Elvira, who cannot compete with her stepsister, has to go to extreme lengths to enhance her looks in hopes of catching the eye of the local prince. Blichfeldt employs ample body horror in this subversive take on the fairy tale, telling the story from the perspective of someone who, by nature of her appearance, could never be considered the heroine.
