The Little Sister
Festival Note
Seventeen year old Fatima is the youngest of three sisters in a French-Algerian family. She enters university in Paris with a life split in two: a home where she is expected to adhere to custom and tradition, and an outside world where she has room to explore her own identity. Adapted from the autobiographical novel by Fatima Daas, The Little Sister presents a dilemma in quiet, almost undramatic terms, telling the story of a girl from a happy home who nonetheless finds herself torn from it.
