Sartika (Claresta Taufan) is pregnant and doesn’t have many prospects, and so she decides to leave the coastal village that has been her home in search of better opportunities. She is taken in by Maya, the owner of a roadside coffee shop, who at first just seems happy to help the pregnant woman. But once Sartika gives birth, she is forced to work as a kopi pangku, a waitress who serves coffee while sitting on a man’s lap.
