Thirteen year-old Marcielle (Jamilli Correa) has grown up in an abusive household on Marajó Island, a place largely isolated from the outside world, located deep within the Amazon rainforest. She sets out to escape her predicament, slowly putting together a plan that would save her and her little sister from the cycles of abuse that her family imposes upon women. Inspired by true accounts, Manas is a hard reckoning with issues that many turn a blind eye to.
