Ky Nam Inn
Festival Note
Khang (Lien Binh Phat), a translator, has just moved to Saigon. It is the 1980s, in the earlier years of the new socialist government that is now ruling and changing Vietnam. There, he meets Ky Nam (Do Thi Hai Yen), a widow who makes her living from her cooking. The younger man is taken with her, but Ky Nam is reluctant to open up, the older woman still bearing the sadness of what was lost in the war. But over time, the two grow close, and the translator finds the right words to open up Ky Nam’s heart.
