Divine Comedy
Festival Note
Bahram (Bahram Ark) is a filmmaker whose films have never been shown in Iran, the Ministry of Culture consistently denying permits for screenings. When his latest film is banned, he and his producer Sadaf (Sadaf Asgari) plot to put together a secret screening inside Iran, hoping to avoid the absurd bureaucracy that keeps them from showing their art. Asgari draws from real experience, and casts real artists who have faced persecution in Iran to create a sense of verisimilitude as the characters navigate the suffocating grasp of state censorship.
