DJ Ahmet
Festival Note
Fifteen-year-old Ahmet (Arif Jakup) lives in a remote Yuruk community in rural North Macedonia. He tends sheep, takes care of his brother, and tries to live up to the expectations of his conservative father. He escapes through music, and dreams of becoming a DJ, but doesn’t see that as a serious pursuit. But then he meets Aya (Dora Aka Zlatanova), who returns to the village after studying in Berlin. She is meant to be married off, but Aya has an independent streak that soon rubs off on the infatuated Ahmet.
