QCShorts Expo
An exhibition program featuring some of the best short films made outside of Southeast Asia by the world’s most exciting auteurs and emerging filmmakers.
QCShorts Expo Program 1: Unthinkable Atrocities
Collected under a program titled Unthinkable Atrocities, these new works in the second edition of Shorts Expo come from emerging auteurs redefining how cinema confronts the indescribably horrific—from Lovecraftian horrors and folkloric curses to intense censorship and real-world genocide. Together, these works expand our understanding of the limits of film as a tool for social intervention, revealing how art can and cannot be used to answer life’s most difficult questions. In acknowledging these constraints, we are encouraged to reexamine cinema as a space for gathering, contesting, and reimagining the world we inhabit today.
