DIRECTOR PROFILE:
Rocky De Guzman Morilla
Rocky Morilla is a UPFI graduate based in Marikina.
She focused on cinematography in university, working as part of the camera department for films such as CinemaOne Origina’s Asuang and QCShorts 2019 Best Film Judy Free.
She co-founded Pothos collective in 2020, a group that explores emancipative and novel approaches to filmmaking cultivated by the community’s lived experiences and struggles. With the collective, she directed Ang Pagsuyo sa Paru-Paro ng Gabi (2021) under FDCP’s first-ever International Silent Film Festival. She also won the 2021 Gawad Sining Award for Best Cinematography for her work in Nang Maglublob Ako sa Isang Mangkok ng Liwanag (2021).
