Roxlee is a three-time Lifetime Achievement Awardee for films having been honored by FAMAS, Urian, and Animahenasyon. Rox is the creator of the comic strip “Cesar Asar’’ published in the Manila Bulletin from the 80s to early 2000s. Considered one of the pioneers of independent filmmaking in the Philippines since the early 80s, his earlier films like “Great Smoke” are deemed classics of alternative cinema.
