Gabriel Mascaro
Gabriel Mascaro (1983) is a filmmaker and visual artist from Recife, Brazil. His documentary Housemaids (Doméstica) premiered in competition at IDFA 2012 (Amsterdam). His first feature film, Ventos de agosto (August Winds), premiered in competition at Locarno in 2014 and was awarded with a special mention. His previous documentaries and video installations have been screened at important film festivals and artistic events. Boi Neon (Neon Bull) is Gabriel's second feature film and premiered in Venice Film Festival 2015. In Venice, the film received the Special Jury Award. In 2016, the first retrospective of his work was held at the Film Society of Lincoln Center, in New York (USA). Divine Love is his third feature film.
